Rick was born and raised in the rural eastern Oregon town of Heppner. He is a 1999 graduate of Western Oregon University with a degree in psychology and sports leadership. Rick moved to Las Vegas and began his career in the golf business in 2001. He was certified by Callaway Golf as a club fitter in 2002. Rick has been at Primm Valley Golf Club since 2003. He has worked in many capacities including player services supervisor, retail manager, and since June 2005 the head professional.
Meet the Club Pro – Derrick Hunter
Raised in Las Cruces New Mexico, Derrick found the game of golf as a sophomore in high school. Derrick picked up the game quickly as he went on to win the state championship his senior year. After high school he attended New Mexico State University where he graduated with a Bachelors in Business Administration focusing on Marketing. While at NMSU, Derrick completed the Professional Golf Management program and soon after obtained his PGA Professional status. Derrick moved to Las Vegas in 2002 to work at the prestigious Spanish Trail Golf and Country Club. Derrick joined the Primm Valley Golf Club team in 2009 and looks forward to many years with the facility
